Painting Air
While going through my email this morning, I saw an email about an exhibition opening at RISD by the artist Spencer Finch. The image above immediately caught my attention (without it, I probably would have deleted the email without reading it all). But I had to find out more about this piece! The press release explains Finch's installation in detail:Inspired by Monet and the pond at Giverny?! Capturing the shifts in light and color on huge hanging panels?! So cool. I'm in love.

Friday Night
Winter Sunset

To the winter sun that sits so low in the sky, that causes slanted cool winter light, that never really feels warm, and sinks behind the horizon far too early in the afternoon; you create the most colorful, breath-taking, beautiful sunsets. But I'm so ready for you to become the spring/summer sun that I love the most.

Light & Shadows

A beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon in the food court. Light and the shadows it creates have always intrigued me, but ever since an architectural history class I took a couple years ago, I can't help but notice the play of light and dark and how it can completely transform a space/building. Thank you, Henry Matthews.

Chaos
Floorset madness. All week. At this point, I'm not even sure who I am or what my name is, let alone the day or time.

Early Morning Light
The way the light falls in the early morning always reminds me of Rome (and all of those rushed crazy mornings of running down the 7 flights of stairs, pushing open that heavy wooden door, and bursting out into the chaotic Campo and that glorious Roman morning light). Even though it's not ancient ruins or the Pantheon, I had to stop and capture the light on this building as I was walking in to work early Friday morning.

Breathtaking

I love clouds. I think they are magical; that in a moment, with a tiny gust of wind or shift of light, they can change and look completely different. I'm constantly inspired by clouds and whenever I go outside, I find myself looking up to the sky. That's why tonight, as I stumbled outside in a post-work daze, and I saw the sky filled with dense, dark clouds consuming the last of the daylight, I was the girl in the Target parking lot taking pictures on her phone.
