Ordinary objects that I see on an (almost) daily basis suddenly because inspirational when I take the time to really see them. These pipes and electrical boxes in the stockroom at work are a perfect example.
My attempt to capture the fleeting moments of the sunset tonight. The light oranges and yellows against the darkening blue sky looked amazing so I ran to take pictures through an upstairs window, as the colors faded before my eyes.
After a crazy, exhausting weekend filled with psycho, rude customers, sometimes the best way to get over it is to treat yourself! PS. The time that elapsed between the before & after shots is embarrassingly short.
Went for another walk in the snow a few nights ago. I can't get enough of the snow-covered trees!! As much as I love the bare branches blanketed in soft layers of snow, I'm obsessed with the white-coated limbs of the evergreen trees with their strong dark and light contrast.
As soon as I got home, I grabbed my Nikon and put on more layers to go for a quick walk in the falling snow. The daylight was fading fast, so most of the pictures turned out monochromatic but that's kind of what makes snow so magical in the first place, right?!
Snapped a couple pictures of a spontaneous snow fall during a car ride yesterday afternoon. I love how snow transforms the world into a soft, still, silent, unrecognizable place. If only we could pause real life and enjoy the solitude for a day or two!
Thursday, Friday, Saturday. I'm addicted (to Starbucks. And Chipotle, but that's been less of a problem recently). I should probably be stopped, but it's too good to give up!
Enjoyed a vanilla latte and the early morning light in an empty mall before work on Friday morning. I can't get enough of all the lines and shapes on the ceiling in the mall! Although I do hate how those annoying round lights kind of ruin the pictures.
It's a great feeling to be sitting inside and look up to see snowflakes dancing above my head. (Although seeing some of the real thing would be nice too!)
After a long, stressful day at work, it feels great to take a moment to stop and appreciate the small things -- like the Christmas lights that are still up at the mall.
