Afterglow
After hearing a lot of positive things about it, I downloaded the app Afterglow. I just spent a long time playing around with it and am loving it! I love pictures with lots of contrast and bright, vibrant colors.

Moments
Even though I'm in the middle of a chaotic, stressful, insane three weeks at work, I've been trying to stop, breathe, and enjoy the small beautiful moments of every day life. Nothing a little painting, sunsets, and incredible colors can't fix! xo

Can't Stop, Won't Stop
Looking through the camera roll on my phone, I realized that pretty much all the pictures I've taken in the past week are related to the change in seasons and its amazing colors. (And let's be honest, about 99% of the pictures are of trees, oops! These pumpkins spotted at Whole Foods being one of the few exceptions). Sorry I'm not sorry ;)

Chasing the Sun
Watching an incredible sunset is one of my favorite things to do in life. It always lifts my mood, takes my breath away, and leaves me feeling inspired. I could tell this was going to be a good one, so I ran down the hill from my house to get the best view possible.

Fall Cleaning
In the process of painting, cleaning, and re-organizing my little studio space. Sometimes a little refreshing of a space is exactly what I need to get inspired and excited to work. I can't wait to get those brushes dirty and that palette covered in paint.

Looking Back
I've been sorting through all of my folders, papers, flashcards, and sketchbooks from college (and high school). Coming across portfolio reviews (like above) makes me realize how much I miss being in school and being a part of an art community. I think it's about time to put myself and my work back into the world.

Early Autumn Light
One of the most significant ways I can sense the change in seasons is the position of the sun in the sky. The light is so much lower, falling lazily across the sky instead of glaring down from above. As sad as I am that summer is officially over, the way the sunlight illuminates these leaves is absolutely breathtaking.

Daily Inspiration
Trying to get back into posting more regularly and why not start with something that's tried and true? I'm in love with this awning and its incredible lines. I love the mirrored pattern created by the shadows. The color of this building reminds me of the Getty Center in LA (and how much I'd like to take another trip there)!

Birthday
Last Sunday was my birthday. Overall it was a pretty normal day, but there were plenty of little moments that made it extra special -- including flowers, a shiny new watch, and Mexican food(my favorite)!

Trestle Bridges
Crossed a few trestle bridges during a mini road trip last week and I cannot get enough of these beauties.

Fishermen's Terminal
Last Saturday was a beautiful sunny day and my mom and I had some time to kill. We decided to head over to Fishermen's Terminal in Ballard and explore the piers. There were so many interesting shapes, colors, and textures to be seen. I especially love the ever-changing reflections of water on the hull of the boats.
