Push Video
I'm obsessing over Push. This video makes his work that much cooler because you can actually see his process and how he goes about it from start to finish. Check it out - I'm lovin' on this guy.
Push
Thanks to Byron for sending me the link to another great artist Push. I'm crazy for the bright colors and bold black lines. You know how much I love lines and shapes! While he has plenty of acrylic on wood/canvas paintings, I'm especially transfixed with the spray painted street art on buildings. It makes me want to buy some cans of spray paint and find some empty walls!
Poppies
In-progress & finished pictures of a poppy watercolor I did a few days ago. I think I actually like it in-progress better than the final result. The lightness and layers that make watercolor so great are definitely more visible in-progress. It got too dark and heavy by the end. There will be more of these coming and with better results, I hope!
Pastel Attempts
A few of my attempts at using pastel & metalic colored pencils and triangles inspired from this. Neither one is finished because I was not lovin' them at all, but maybe they will get some more attention in the future.

Studio
Julie Shapiro
I just came across a review of Julie Shapiro's show at The Painting Center, NYC. I've always loved her work but I'm head over heels crazy about Billow. The colors are gorgeous and I love the imperfection of the grid-like structure as it shifts and slides down the canvas. I need to break out my oil paints -- it's been far too long.

Chicago
Film photos of Chicago from 2003, I believe. I recently stubbled across them as I was sorting through old files and I was struck by all the beautiful lines, shapes, shadows, and reflections. It's funny how I took these years before my architectural line obsession started to take over my life but I think it's always been lurking just under the surface.
